OK. Assuming we're talking about the default out of the box standalone. ie 3DXStudio Ose or 4314 opensim RTR.
Little notes/ warning:
-Do not treat 'anything' in your standalone as permanent an upgrade may break things, backwards compatability cannot be assured.
-DO take a copy of the following and keep it seperate before updating, or even leave the existing files where they are and start in a new folder for the newer version.
Files to keep!
The essential:
- Everything * ending in .db
(these are your SQLite Databasefiles).
- All * the .xml files in your /regions/ directory
(these are the basic region config, they are important they contain a UUID for the region which the prims will reference)
The not so necessary to re-use but you will want a copy:
opensim.ini
(this is the basic config but it changes over revisions so you may/maynot want to re-use, re-using may break the standalone if things in the newer version are referenced differently) - note using the new one that comes with a new ready to run ie. 3DXStudio OSe is unlikely to break your db files but *advanced* if you made any changes to your old opensim.ini these may need to be re-edited)
estatesettings.xml
The basic estate settings for the regions. This may/may not be necessary to bring over (unless u manually edited). If it's not brought over the new version will likely have one or re-make one anyway.
I just have to write this 1 more time, because it's just so important. DO make a copy! upgrades may sometimes the old data will not always be compatible.
