I've downloaded and installed the 3DX Studio Server OSE. I've started it up and the log shows that it is ready for avatar connections but when I do try to connect (using Test/User/Password/local on R15.1) I get "Unable to connect to Openlife. Despite our best efforts... (etc)"
OS: Vista (running as Admin)
Maybe the Windows firewall?Just turn it off for a test.
But you should have got a windows message, that tells you, that opensim.exe is trying to connect....
Greetings, Galen
I haven't tried turning off thefirewall yet but I have added the port to the firewall.
I don't get any Windows message which suggests to me that despite having selected "local" what it is trying to do is connect to something online.
I have the same problem and have turned off the Firewall, still no joy connexting to the server. I have seen something in the FAQ about changing the something with the logon but have no idea how to do it ,
yea i have the same issue. i connect to the 3DX Studio server but when it trys to load the regeon it fails. i looked at the regeon file and its only 1 k not sure if its ment to be that tiny.
Look thru the Main log in the studio - scroll up for a bit. Does it say something about TCP ports/sockets being exhausted? If so submit it as a bug on contact page - i did that about 10 days ago - maybe another bug report would push it along
Rebooting is a workaround
Same problem here, just tested today with firewalls off and cannot login at all. I am using WindowsXP ...........
add me to that list....
