GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

Hi,

The much anticipated GRID updates are commencing now. These will last for approx 1-2 hours, and may result in limited or no login availability during this time. Whilst we try to minimise downtime as much as possible these are necessary and implement Part 1 of 2 of the new v.0.6 release name 'xtom'.

The 2nd update is likely to be tommorrow.

We hope everyone enjoys the new release as much as we do!

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

Ruthed on first and second login. Same location not "Last Location". Avatar all black.

I think all prims in scene were loaded too.

Most hollows are hollow again.
Rezzed and cut each shape, could walk through all except for spheres. My glass dome is still solid.

Resizing does not slip back to old centre. Good!

Sculpy still has no default map.

All so far...

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

quick note on AV appearance.

Because new methods are implemented in this update including storage tables, your previous saved appearance won't be remembered. Although you won't see the grey fat man anymore

However the majority of your appearance will be remembered after being worn, and you can wear prims etc too.

It seems that every script I had out in a prim is now no permissions. No Copy No Mod No Transfer. Ok in inventory.
Maybe not all but some. Could be another issue. No worries.

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

Hi!  I logged into the update OK, obviously ruthed, as mentioned above.  I managed to load my proper appearance, no problem, and I managed to attach an attachment but I couldn't edit it at all - -  no position, rotate or stretch.

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

You just need to click on the attachment a couple of times to get the edit screen to complete.  (At least that's what I found worked earlier today.)

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

I seem to be getting strange happenings when texturing.

Apart from rubber-banding/reverting wildly, I be changing textures and the prim will go full-bright and or put a stucco or other bump map and even shiny. I did not go near those settings.

Never noticed this before.

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

tested rezzing and texturing. Rezzed part of my Kondo building. everything look fine. rez time varies depending on number of prims being rezzed and where you rez them. Rezzing on empty ground is fastest. Deleting prims, tried to delete the whole Kondo in one shot, 886 prims, and lost connection. When I relogged, all prims were deleted.

Region crossing is slow, if flying, had tome to travel to middle of region before rubber-banding back at border. When region is busy with prim content, had time to cross into next region and didn't regain control of AV. Had to TP back into the region.

That's all I had time to test. Used SL client and Rex.

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

Logged in after clearing Cache this morning with R14. Arrived at 10,10,10 in Electron. Stuck there could not move. TPs not working. Logged out.

Waited a few minutes, Logged in again using Absynth in the R14 Viewer "Start Location" drop down (Web start location is set at Electron). This worked and I arrived in Absynth Ruthed. Edited shape etc. Noticed the same walking and flying lag as Prat. Noticed that Renegade is missing. Crossed to Cutlass, Crossed to Pierre, crossed back to Absyntyh and crashed floating away forever in Absynth.

Re my latest on problem with attachments.  I logged on again later and managed to attach an object.  It was editable but with a bug.  This is that vertical positioning shoots the attachment several metres up or down, while I trembled violently and so did the position arrows.  So it was impossible to affix the bun to my hair so I had to go back to wearing it loose LOL.

However, my most recent login worked OK - I appeared at my usual spot in my proper form, not ruthed -

Re: GRID UPDATES in PROGRESS Part 1 of 2

Since the update, I log into Dracule at <10,10,10>, can only log out, no tp or move.

Logged out and logging gave a number of error messages until I logged into Bubble, then crashed trying to cross a sim border. Now

I cant even log in. Frustrated, left a not for support team.

If the latest update ha made any changes I cant see them as I have been unable to log in , except to crash at bubble.....

Attachments, shapes, hair, clothes etc. all work without a hitch for me, but none of them persist. (I keep reverting to Ruth after each login and it doesnt get me back to my "last location"). Nevertheless, many thanks to the OpenSIM and OL teams for the update:)

I'm using RealXtend 0.21 by the way. I'll try clearing the cache.

My progress on attachments!......  Now I seem to be able to add and edit attachments OK some of the time.  Single prim attachments are OK, but any attached object made from more than 1 prim shoots several metres if I try and move it.
