I'm a windows user, and I have a shortcut whose target is defined as follows:
"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -loginuri http://logingrid.net:8002/
This doesn't work. It tries to connect me to Linden's grid.
What am I missing? |

Which version of the SL Viewer are you using?

Hi, I'm having the same problem. I'm using the latest version of the viewer from LL (1.18.5.3)

| i've used multiple versions, 1.18.5(3), Nickolaz Version, Dale Glass Viewer, Windlight, RC... it all wants to log me into the SL grid. I can't get into CentralGrid either.
Perhaps releasing a modified client? |

| doublecheck if you are using loginuri or loginurl ?
i and L look alot alike, might be that doing it |

Doublechecked. Cut and pasted. Shortcutted. Command Prompted. Same problem everytime. Viewer is connecting to LL Grid and not Openlife Grid. Just in case there's any doubt =) |

OK. I have a little 'launcher program' that I'll put into the downloads section soon.
This will mean you don't need the shortcut. and can just use the launcher to choose Openlife grid or your local standalone region.
(For XP/VISTA users).
**Please note new users still cannot login as we don't sync between the website and the grid. We are working on a few things at the moment and then will turn the 'syncing' on. Allowing our new 5000 strong community members to join the rest of us in the grid.

I registered on the 11th and have just managed to get in today using the main release of the SL viewer. I'm stuck in editing appearance trying to make me some new clothes and shape which does not seem to be working in all aspects. |

Hi Sakai and all Openlifers
u have that little launcher thingy yet ? I registered today... ok lets see... some 6 hours ago and cant access the site. Boo hoo!! Was told about the new grid by a friend in SL ... so really excited but  no way in !!! Help please my Avie is getting a tad snappy ^_^ !!

Got in just now !! I followed the instructions on the Wiki page
http://www.openlifegrid.com/dnn/Wiki/tabid/58/topic/Getting%20Started/Default.aspx
created a new shortcut to SL and then in properties added the loginuri ....
pressed the button.... thought 'on no it is connecting me to SL' ... but no it took me to Openlife and there I was with my butt ugly avie  lol
So fingers x-d u and all other frustrated get the same result.
Next Question  any places for newbies in openlife yet? |

Just out of curiosity , from those of you who are saying "Its trying to connect to the LL Grid" , how can you tell
mine looks the same wheather im connecting to SL, openlife or standalone |

I am having the same problem as anyone else.
I can still log in using my Second Life name and it takes me to Second Life - I assume that's what others are referring to. |

If you are still logging into Second Life, then you need to check the wiki again for OpenLife login instructions. This needs to be added to the shortcut target:
-loginuri http://logingrid.net:8002

Yes, I get the LL screen too, so that is okay... because once there I put in my OpenLife Avies names and password and then OpenLife grid opens ... so no problems.

I have yet to try the actual grid, But I found the solution to this problem for the Standalone simulator. There is a problem in the instructions for the standalone. The shortcut listed ends in 8002 but to log into the simulator you need it to say 9000. Once I made the change I got right into my standalone. |
