Stand Alone Terrains
Modified By Arachia Botanical on 10/11/2008 11:44:09 AM)

How do I chande the terrian of a new region sort of permantly.  I figured out how to add new regions like the stand alone wiki said and sort of the way the 3dxserver studio but can't find instuctions how to add the terrian like the ones from the extra or add on download area.  I am trying to find a terrian that I can use for a project that I will have to do at a location that has no internet.

Re: Stand Alone Terrains

1. unpack the .f32 terrain file into the root folder of the 3dxstudio.

2. go to the command tab in 3dxstudio.

3. enter change-region myregionnamehere

4. cmd to enter -> terrain load myfile.f32

That's it the terrain of that region will now be as set.

If you want to provide a package already set with the terrain in place. Edit the Region.xml file in the regions table and change the default_terrain="filename.f32" value to the name of the terrain. This will make the default that file you put in the root directory.

Sakai beat me! I am working on a tutorial right now for your answer. :P

I will still post the link when done in case you need visuals like I often do for this stuff.

Ok, here is the link to my blog post on how to do this. Likely Sakai's explaination did the trick for you but I am a visual learner so this is for the visual learners out there. :P
