Rip off of second life 

- Program looks exactly like second life,  rip off.

- Program crash like no tommorow, aleast SL more stable

 

Overall,Never seen such rip off second life.

Thanks for the brief but perhaps provocative feedback Wiz-Kid.

In brief answer but polite.

The viewer is a modified version of Secondlife Viewer (which LL released as opensource). So yes it's going to look a lot like SL.

2nd part to note is only relatively minor changes are made to the R14 viewer which has been made by an Openlife Resident (donated time) which we are thankful for although you can also connect with a generic LL Viewer too.

Crashes/Bugs etc.

Yes these will happen as Openlife is an Alpha near Beta project. Our server code is originally based on the Opensimulator project which is also opensource but in no means is a rip off of SL as no copyright there has been infringed, no one has access to the SL server code, so everything is created from scratch.

 

I hope that provides you a little more insight into where we've come from. However it's worth noting it's most certainly not our intention to create a clone of SL, but to go further and provide more advanced features and technologies in this virtual world environment. (some of this we may see very soon with the new Avatar 2.0).
