Hello friends,
This is really good news. Exiting such a big project.
I hope i see you soon on the grid.
I would suggest to find a name for the lake first.
So my first thought was Paradise Lake, then after a while
this seemed to be a little to sweet ..lol
So my second thought was Crystal Lake.
That would also fit with the region touching the lake in the south.
If you have other suggestions let me know.
Kiwi , i think Crystal Lake Resort is a cool name for your Project.

Hi Kiwi,
Hmm Caribean and Tiki i think is not really fitting there because thats more for tropical climate.Think there can be some variations from humid nothern up to mediterranian more dry climate. We could smoothly merge that,
but tropical is too far away.Something for another project.
So maybe some northern style huts? Kind of swedish wooden houses.
And a boathouse is fine too.And i would like to have a plan for the whole area to see how we will putall this together.
So we do have 4 Projects up to now.
The Name could be something like :
Crystal Lake Nature Reserve and Resort
1 BODHI Natural Reserve welcome center maybe inworld tutorial and meeting point
2 RAINFELL Buddhist Tempel and spiritual place garden and so on
3 LALLAHABIBA Southern climate bay and beach with traditional mediteranian/ morocan fisherboats, olive trees etc.
4 KIWI Relaxing lakeside resort with huts, baoathouse and a mansion
But anyway we have to meet online at the lake.
The region was partially off tonight.
Maybe it will take some more days until it is reliable stable.
But i will be there as often as i can.
Otherwise you find me in Sanman on the cliff.
Greetings

Well hello all!
I think Sakai is very generous to offer us this opportunity. There is plenty of land here for each of us to develop a region to our styles and taste showcasing what each has to offer and..big AND... the general area whichwe should all work together on..in my opinion the immediate area around the lake should be preserved as close to nature as posible almost park like perhaps and each of us contributing to its development whatever the final design we agree upon!
I know each of us has a vision and style that we would like to see so the real test of community starts with us. I think ultimately we remember SL before the population explosion and the real meat and potatos here is to make a better place.
I think our three ( and more) styles will actually work well together.
each of us should post our time zones and availability to be in world so we can meet and have a discussion about what we want to offer the community and how we will be remembered in the history of openlife...
I look forward to working with you all.

Hello Rainfell,
Yes i agree with you, to let the area as close to (virtual )
nature as possible. No commercial adds, no flying objects under
, lets say 200 m , no pink prim junk ...etc.
I have been doing some sighseeing in natural areas in SL lately
and got some inspirations in Botanical, The botanical garden of SL,
and for tutorials at the Ivory tower . Also for texturing
Robin Sojouner Wood's inworld Tutorial is just great.
I could ask these people if their Notecards used in the Tutorials
can be used here too.
Another point i was thinking about is to provide a stock of really
good made stuff (plants ,home and garden, nature ) for people
free to use.
As we see in SL everywhere is the same stuff and being there
a lot after a while it just gets boring to see the same tree again and again
to hear the same birdsound looping. As the world will grow lots of people will
furniture their area with the default stuff from the Openlife library and other
free sources.
So i would like to see a large variety of items.
Maybe the library could be open for developers and builders to add stuff for the
community.
Uhh i have too many ideas..... head exploding lol
OK enough so far......
My timezone is Germany GMT its now 11 30 am.
I will be ingame today a lot, if the lake area isnt working you find me on the cliff opposite to your temple.
All the best
Bodhi

Yes inventory is going to be a big necessity. people will come to see, but everyone will want to accessorize their new avatars and areas. What we present them with as a "welcome package" will be important to keeping them there. I am trying to learn the art of skins, though I honesty suck at it...lol...still something I want to learn for myself. Prim hair, clothes, shoes etc will be also important in keeping people interested in their 3rd life...haha.
I would also like to add in this world as much art as possible. Now is the time to build our monuments and temples and serene areas all quiet with picturesque views. Now is the time to make the place magical and breathtaking!
Kiwi's post brought up a good point as she mentioned condo's etc, and that brings into play a modern concept.I intuit that Bodhi and I are a bit more classical in our views. I do like her concept of tiki I think it could play into the nature theme. I would like to hear more from her on this. My style of architecture is asian bodhi is more environmental i believe.
I also think as I said before that each of us has the opportunity to branch off from the group and develop areas on their own. In this way each of us can have some artistic freedom...that part I think is important coz then we will not feel animosity when working together on common areas.
When we all have a chance to meet we should look at the area and think of the flow around the lake regions and establish where "paths" will be. This way visitors can flow from one area to another with out having to jump a wall or whatever. Then we can plan our areas and incorporate the paths into our designs.
Any how just some ideas, the more planning we do the better our work will be. I look forward to working with everyone!
Namaste!

Hey hey,
Artistic freedom is nice but i think that we must meet to discuss so that ours project can merge with each other, to much diffrent styles are also not good. So mediterranian style is ok by me. Im gonna search in SL for nice spots to inspire me for the project. Yesterday it was difficult to login, tonight I give it another try.
my Timezone is GMT +01:00 The Netherlands.
See you soon,

Hello Hello,
I agree with both of you.
But really we have to meet inworld.
So i am there 6-7 hours a day just let me know when you will be there.
You may also IM me in Skype Midispace
And also i spent time in SL same name.
Yesterday there have been a lot of problems with crashing.
Today seems to get better a bit,but 1 Region of the Lake area is
a mess atm. Terrain Error. The rest seems to work now.
But better do not trie to terraform. While doing that i crashed lately frequently.

Hello Hello,
The east coast is up have you seen, really beautiful.
Hmmm.. havent you seen inworld yet.Doyou have login probs
too much rl to do?
Well i alredy dropped some stuff in the lake area.
Some signs path, trees ,no final versions but at least a begin to structure the project a bit.
So from where ever you enter the the lakes area you will see a welcome sign.
When you are online inworld i wold suggest you just begin to build and drop some nice stuff. My main area where i build is Blueberry.
Kingston ,Crystal Kingston and Elson Bay, are free so far and in Adam Point my friend Lallahabiba will build.
So drop by and begin folks

Hi Kiwi,
Do you know, to change your start region you have to do that on the website.
Just changing in the small window down in the SL browser won't do it.
I found that Kai is a very good region for login in.Mostly online.
So you have to login into your account on the website and choose the point
change account
There you can choose another start region.
I was talking to Sakai tonight and he said that a major bug fix has been done.
So login should be much easyer from today or tomorrow.
Also all the regions around the lake hopefully will be back now.
Cu there

Yes the new bug fix to the GRID has done super things, although it's still possible for a region to go offline from other errors. We try exceptionally hard to ensure the default 'fall-over' region is always available (Welcome Area).
However if you can't get into there simply pick a region that's not connected to the one you tried to get into and it's likely it will be alive (letting you login).
Of course after this you can TP around and enjoy the world.
See you in there!

Hello hello,
My first buiding structure is ready. I was thinking to use it as a boathouse with docks but it can also used for other purposes. It has two floors with on the first one stairs to the second floor and to the docks. On the second floor we have a nice balcony with a beautiful view over a big part of the region. The building is not completely done and its not textured yet (dont have nice textures ). So you can check it out in Kingston and if you have some nice textures for the building let me know ...
Seeyah later,
