Hi all,
its so nice to see this grid develop and getting better and better. Not only on the technical side, but mainly on the creative side. I love to see this world come alife and all the creativity in bloom....
A few weeks ago i started my regions. My knowledge about building and scripting was very limited, just from sandboxes in SL. And absolutely no knowledge in terraforming and designing a sim.
In the first days, when i started, i was very enthusiastic about how easy it was for me to build. But when my first build (the Obelisk) was nearly ready.... well, it was huge, it was monumental... but it had no heart.....
I found out, that its not the intellectual side that is a great challenge for me, its the emotional side, the heart side. Scripting and building technologies are relative easy for me to learn, since i'm a "mind"-person who works with computers for 20 yrs (woow, how fast time passes....). But to find out, how to bring in my heart in this new media, is something totally new for me...a process that will probably take much much more time. For now, i've found out, that creating only small parts of a region, slowly, one after another, with love and nice details, is the way for me to go. Probably for many of you this is quite obvious, but for me it was an interesting learning process. Well, its a totally new world for me, what did i expect?
So my first build was deleted and I keep a smaller version of the Obelisk as a symbol, a monument of steadiness, in the fast and ever changing metaverse. Its name is "Obelisk in the river of souls".
At the moment, I put much work in putting up an exhibition in Parlay for the german artists www.meworld.de, Manfred Schneider-Steiner and Elke Peikowski. Very soon we will have the Vernissage of their exhibition "Winterlicht" (winterlight), where you are invited to come and talk with the artists. If you want a preview, feel free to come to Parlay and have a look.
From now on, I will try to make exhibitions in Parlay on a regular base. Two more exhibitions are in planning. I'm looking forward to the new "events"-page on our website. Of course, i will announce the exhibitions and the vernissagesthere.
Oki, enough for now,
love and peace
