I've been waiting today for the grid to be online. Meantime, I've been working on a simple door script. You can see an example here. It seems to work in opensim, but I haven't been able to test it in OLG. I'm looking forward to testing it in OLG.
I have noticed strange behavior in OLG lately. Prims take a long time to rez when created. Scripts in objects take a long time to load. Created prims often duplicate themselves. There is an echo in chat. All these things and more add to the frustration of building in OLG, but hey, it's still in alpha stages and the potential is there for a new direction for opensim activities. It's still exciting (and intimidating) to rez into a whole region, a blank slate for me to fill with whatever my imagination can conceive. As new functions become operational, we will all have to look back at this time of confusion and remember "the good old days." lol.
If you look here, you can see the many bugs that developers are working on to make opensim a smoother experience for all. It's a long process from alpha to beta to stable, so patience is necessary. Keep working, Sakai! Sleep is for wimps!
